The Fundraiser that was a $5k HIT (A-Thon)!
(We are SO doing this again)
In the summer of 2015, we decided to do a fundraiser for the Lymphatic Education & Research Network and it was something that was near and dear to my heart…
We did a HIT-A-THON and we raised $5,000!

There was SO much support from friends and the community and we were so grateful for that. We had close to 100 people come hit pitches on August 1st, 2015.
There were so many cool parts of doing this fundraiser. Here are at lease some of them.
WE WERE ON TV!!! We were gifted help from a local PR agency, Pennino and Partners that got me and my family on TV and radio leading up to the event! It also got us posted on many different websites, like our press release on WoodlandsOnline. We were on Fox 26 in the Morning, Good Day Houston and got our press release read by Charlie Pallilo on the sports radio station he was on at the time. Here is the video of the Fox 26 interview:

We were also blessed to be given the services of Gordon Productions, who shot and edited video of the event!
We had sign and flyer donations from 1to1 Printers, Kevin Murphy and Kwik Kopy Printing in Spring, as well as food from Raising Canes and Papa Johns.
Other donors included: Primrose, Dugout Sports, Sports Clips, Wings N’ More, The Wells Team (Real Estate), State Farm – Jared Dolan and Catcher’s University.
The Texas Collegiate League had a team in The Woodlands at the time, The Woodlands Strykers. We hosted players at our home for them and I used to be a bat boy for them as well. Their owner, Mr. Ramiro Lozano, was SUPER supportive and allowed the players to pitch to batters at the event and helped promote the event. He also donated generously.

The amazing support by friends, family, teammates and more. We had a great turnout, three different fields at Alden Bridge Sports Park being utilized for different ages.
I really want to do another hit-a-thon! We are going to be working on it and we will let everyone know!
